Bloomington : Indiana

Bloomington is a county seat of Monroe County. While one tradition says the community was named for its flowers and foliage while some attribute it to the settler William Bloom. The topography of the place is characterized by beautiful rolling hills, ridges, and ravines. Bloomington is close to cities like Indianapolis, Louisville, and Kentucky. Bloomington produces some high quality limestone that is used for the construction of homes, museums, government buildings and artworks. Bloomington enjoys four distinct seasons of winter, summer, spring and fall.

Population: 69,017 (as on July 2005)
