Muncie : Indiana

Muncie, in Delaware County, is located approximately sixty miles northeast of Indianapolis. It is surrounded by Grant and Blackford Counties on the north, Jay and Randolph Counties on the east, Henry County on the south and Madison County on the west. Muncie was named after the Delaware tribe who established a tribal town along the White River called Munseetown. With the discovery of natural gas, many new industries and businesses were established in this region. The Ball Corporation headquarters is still located in Muncie (1999). Ball Hospital and Ball State University are other important establishments in Munice.
