Southbend : Indiana

Located on the Saint Joseph River, South Bend is the seat of St. Joseph County. The region is labeled as “Michiana” covering six counties in Indiana and two counties in Michigan. South Bend is home to the University of Notre Dame, which is nationally recognized for its academic excellence and for its winning football team "The Fighting Irish."
South Bend’s proximity to Lake Michigan produces a moderating effect on its climate. Temperatures do not rise above 100 degrees and cold waves are less severe than other locations. Precipitation is relatively even throughout the year.
